UPDATE ON WHERE WERE AT WITH FUNDRSAISING PROJECTS.

Phase 1 of the building restoration 2022 – 2023 Make a Joyful Noise project – Research regarding the music history or the building and Hastings and St Leonards music heritage of Victorian England up to the 1940’s. As well as included the restoration of stone masonry and windows on the Robertson Street side of the building. Literally the week before the scaffolding went up one of the window panes fell out. We were within a year of closing down when we secured the grant funding which was only possible due to the generous community who helped us. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this possible. Special thanks goes to the generous support of our Hastings & St Leonards community, service users as well as the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Garfield Weston Foundation, National Churches Trust, Benefact Trust, and Sussex Historic Churches Trust

Phase 2 of the building restoration 2024 FUNDRAISING GOAL – £80,000 fundraising is underway as the urgency has stepped up. We are aiming to raise funds up to £250,000 to be able to do everything needed on the Cambridge Road side including the deteriorating windows and stone work but the first goal is to get enough money into complete the improvements to the the waste water route on the roof, the gulley’s are lined with lead and where not designed for the amount of water that we get in this day and age, including the water that we take from the two neighbours who share are route. The other element is the pavement where the light vents were covered up to stop car fumes coming into the ground level (our cafe) water has been getting in as the flag stones have dropped after 130+ years. So once again we are applying for grants to help but have to raise a portion of money our selves and prove we have the support of the community to keep our building in use.

Accessible Access to Henry Ward Hall / His Place Community Church 2024 – 2025 fundraiser project. We have stair lifts in place and are used regularly as well as ‘Roll a Ramp’ access from Cambridge Road entrances. We would love to be more accessible buy upgrading the stair lifts to a platform lift that wheelchair users and people with prams, walking frames could use. It would save people in need of the WC’s having to go back outside to get through the Robertson Street entrance for WC during events. Our fundraising target for this is £25k

Please download and return the Gift Aid Declaration so that we can receive more from your donation.

With your help, we can carry out future planned phases, these include the restoration of our beautiful church organ and auditorium.
